ABOUT JOHN
I was born and raised in Crowley, Louisiana. I am a lifelong resident of Louisiana where I attended Notre Dame High School in Acadia Parish. I then attended Louisiana State University where I graduated with a degree in History with a minor in Business. Next, I attended law school at Loyola University in New Orleans where I received a Juris Doctorate in Law.
In 2010 I began practicing law in Crowley Louisiana, at the firm of Edwards, Stefanski & Zaunbrecher. Currently I am a partner in the firm where I have a general practice and focus on several different areas of the law with an emphasis on helping the community. Additionally, I am currently the Attorney for the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office and Acadia Parish Assessor’s office.
In 2017 I was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives to represent District 42. I served on several committees as well as serving as the Chair of the House and Governmental Affairs Committee from 2021-2024. Additionally, I was a member of the State Bond Commission, Capital Security Council and House Select Leadership Committee. In 2024 I did not seek re-election.
I currently also serve on the Board of the Acadiana Area Human Services District, I am a member of the Crowley Rotary, I am a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley and I continue to look for opportunities to help my community and serve.
